I was at the height of physical fitness, trying to do everything possible to keep myself fit. On 11th July 2009 I had planned to trek with few of my friends at Bilikallu Rangaswamy betta near kanakapura town. After traveling through very serene and winding roads, we had to trek for about 3.5 hours to get to the top of the mountain. It was very scenic and the winds at the top were very ...refreshing and we really enjoyed our time there. We started our descent and after 10 minutes I slipped and just had to squat. In the process, because of the momentum my right leg entered under a rock. When I pulled it out I realized that my foot had turned around by 90 degrees. When I tried putting my foot down it was clear that my ankle was completely dislocated. I was obviously in severe pain and my friends then had to help me get back to the vehicle. It took me 5.5 hours after the accident to get to the hospital. Orthopedic surgeon then asked for an X-ray and made it very clear that there were multiple fractures and a surgery had to be performed. My dad and uncle then wanted to take a second opinion on the same. They were then referred to Dr. Deepak Inamdar by a close family friend who is a physiotherapist. My dad and Uncle were obviously very confident once they spoke to Dr. Deepak Inamdar and wanted to me to be treated by him. I was then moved to Ramakrishna hospital. I met him for the first time at the hospital and he immediately infused lot of confidence in me. He was a young doctor who was willing to spend time to explain all aspects of what had happened and what he was planning to do. I finally had to go through the surgery on 14th July 2009 and it was a 3.5 hours surgery. He met me next morning in the ICU with the X-Ray of my fibula and ankle with the plate and screws fixed in it. He then explained me why it so long as the bone had shattered and it was a jigsaw puzzle for him to put that back together. He obviously took pride in the work he had done the previous day and was very thrilled that it had come out very well. It took me 4 months to move from ICU to ward to bed to crutches to stick and finally to walking. People were really imagined that was back on my legs and could start walking in a period of 4 months. In about 5 months I could resume walking for 2.5 hours continuously. In a period of about 8 months or so I was about play every game that I used to play earlier. In fact I had also gone trekking within a year to Sawan Durga although it was not a treacherous!! Real testimony to Dr. Deepak’s skill was when I had visited US in winter within 8 months of my accident and enthusiastically ended up running on the treadmill. I was in pain and had to visit a local doctor there and he was amazed at the work done on my leg and ended up saying that it he could barely make out that a surgery was done on my leg as it was really clean. Now I am able to do any activity without any hindrance at all, Thanks to Dr Deepak

I hardly have pain any more and my hand looks much better.
Were you pleased with the treatment? I had a radial club hand since by birth 30 years ago and none of the doctors i consulted, including a specialist in the UK, diagnosed it correctly. As a result i underwent painful procedures which only resulted in a deformed left hand and chronic pain in the wrist. A chance visit to Dr.Deepak revealed the problem and he suggested a cosmetic correction. The procedure was simple and results are amazing. I hardly have pain any more and my hand looks much better. Thank you doctor.
